Do You Have a Customer-Focused Site?

Do you have a customer-focused site? If you have a business website, you should definitely be asking this question. If you search business websites, most of them are often promoting their services and products. This is okay but a common mistake for many of these business sites is they can get overly absorbed on themselves- what their business has to offer, what makes them the best in the industry, why customers should choose them over competitors, etc.

True, marketing is really about self-promotion. However, there’s a lot more to internet marketing. It’s not just about focusing in your business. On the contrary, the most effective online marketing strategies are focused on its customers. How so?

Give Importance to Your Customers

Instead of simply introducing your business and what makes your company the best among your competitors, you may use advertisement that involves your customers. Do not just focus on your strengths. Instead highlight your strengths but at the same time do not forget your customers. A good advertisement makes the customers feel that the company understands their exact needs and that the company is doing its best to provide them.

For instance, let’s say that your business is providing outsourcing services. Let’s take a look at the two advertising examples below:

1) We have been providing outsourcing services for 10 years. If you’re looking for efficient and reliable services, we are the company that can help you. If you’re aiming for excellence and competitiveness for your business, we are the company to bank on.

2) If your business needs expertise in website designing, website building, online promotion or content writing, you can be assured that we can deliver these services for you at a reasonable rate. Let us help your business stay on top of the competition. Our staff is fully trained and equipped that guarantees you get only the best team for your business. You may try one of our services and if you’re not a hundred percent satisfied, you can get it free.

Customer-Focused Advertising
Notice the difference between the two advertisements. The first one simply claims to be the best outsourcing service provider in the industry. It simply states that it has been around for a long time and claims to provide reliable service.

On the hand, the second example focuses on the customer’s needs and benefits while highlighting what the company offers. It specifically states how a business can benefit from obtaining its services. Additionally, it offers a trial service for free to prove that it can provide one hundred percent customer satisfaction.

Of the two examples, which do you think is more effective? You’ll probably prefer the second example because it’s not solely focused on itself. In short, it is customer-focused. It clearly puts customers ahead of its own gains. In fact, it is willing to extend support to prove its claims. Naturally, if you’re the customer, you’ll more likely choose the second company over the other. Why? Because it obviously gives you more importance.

Every business needs to take a close look at its marketing strategies. Bear in mind your customers concerns. More importantly, make sure that your business can live up to your customer’s expectations. Do not make claims that you cannot deliver. As a business, making your customers happy should always be your goal. If your business will not gain your customers’ trust and support, it will never prosper.
