<p>“Spamming” is sending out messages or emails to people without first asking for their permission.  Even worse, spammers send out these unsolicited emails repeatedly to the same recipients just to get their attention.  Spammers are hoping to get noticed, to get recognized, or even make a sale from sending out unsolicited emails.  Aside from personal email addresses, they also use online communities and forum boards to post off-topic messages that disrupt the discussion.</p>
<h4>Why Spamming is a Bane to Home Based Business</h4>
<p>Obviously, spamming isn’t considered as a good business practice.  In fact, online marketers are strongly discouraged from using “spam” as one way to advertise the business.  Why?  Spamming is an ineffective tactic because everyone hates unsolicited ads.<span id="more-1506"></span>  Instead of attracting potential clients to patronize your business, spamming would be like driving them away on purpose.</p>
<p>Wouldn’t you hate it if your inbox becomes filled with advertising emails that you’ve never signed up for?  Wouldn’t you be angry if a stranger enters your home and tries to sell you something without first knocking on your door?  In concept, spamming is a lot like breaking through someone’s home without the owner’s consent.  Needless to say, you wouldn’t want your home based business to be part of any campaign that is related to spamming.</p>
<h4>Avoid Spam &#8211; Build Your Own List</h4>
<p>One way to build up your own mailing list is by offering a newsletter from your website.  If a person signs up to be part of your newsletter mailing list, then that means you can freely send them e-zines and updates.</p>
<p>Nevertheless, be careful about using your mailing list abusively.  Don’t send too many emails that could take up too much space in their inbox.  If you promised to deliver weekly or monthly newsletter, stick with your schedule.  Respect the privacy of your prospects and never give out or sell out their email addresses to other merchants or for other purposes.</p>
<p>By creating your opt-in list, you can be sure that the people who signed up for your newsletter are genuinely interested in what you have to offer and they are willing to receive more information from you.  But of course, winning their confidence takes more than just asking for their permission.</p>
<p>Make sure that emails or the messages that you would be sending are relevant and useful for your audience.  Don’t send out emails that contain propaganda or pure advertising humbug that are a waste of time to read.  By using decent marketing tactics to promote your business, not only do you attract more customers, you are also building up a good reputation for your company.</p>

This results to wasted time and money due to ineffective advertising techniques.  Let’s discuss the top ten adwords marketing mistakes to be avoided:</p>
<p><strong>1)Not setting a marketing budget. </strong>Advertisers bid on Adwords for a higher ranking.  If you will not set a limit on the amount to spend on your Adwords marketing, you can find yourself spending unreasonably on your bids.<span id="more-1492"></span></p>
<p><strong>2)Not considering the conversion rate of your keywords.</strong> Some marketers rely too much on the click rate without considering the conversion rate at all.  Remember that even if you get a large number of clicks, if they don’t turn into actual sales, you end up spending more on your advertising without getting much in return.</p>
<p><strong>3)Wrong keyword research technique.</strong> All advertisers use the Google keyword search tool because it’s free.  However, it doesn’t give you a more detailed information on the real potential of the keywords.  Better use a paid keyword search tool which enables you to analyze your keywords more closely.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Internet marketing is only effective when the steps are done right.  Otherwise, you may find that your time and efforts are wasted without getting the results you expect.  Here are ten internet marketing strategy mistakes that must be avoided.</p>
<p><strong>1)Slow download time. </strong> If your website takes a long time to download, you’ll most likely be losing your prospects.  People simply don’t have the time, and the patience to wait for a site to completely load.  If your site takes an entire a minute to complete, viewers will close their browser or check out a different website immediately.<span id="more-1488"></span></p>
<p><strong>2)Using complex programs. </strong> Does your website make use of flash programs?  If so, make sure there is an HTML version available.  Not all internet users have Macromedia Flash on their computer.</p>
<p><strong>3)Focusing solely on internet marketing.</strong> Internet marketing is a great tool in promoting your business.  However, don’t forget the importance of offline marketing as well.  Not everyone spends their time online and not everyone is familiar with your website.<br />

<p><strong>Submit to the right article directories.</strong> There are many article directories online but what you want are those with higher page rank and one that has been on the web for at least a year or more.<span id="more-1329"></span></p>

<p><strong>Submit to your niche market.</strong> When submitting to an article directory, you will be required to choose a topic.  Choosing the right topic is crucial if you want to reach out to your niche market.  You want to reach out people who are genuinely interested with your topic.</p>
<p><strong>Distribute articles to webmasters. </strong>Aside from directories, you can also send articles to different webmasters and bloggers.  Look for sites or blogs that cater to your niche market.  Contact its webmaster or blog owner and ask if they can post one of your articles on their site/blog with a link to your website.</p>
<p><strong>Write more articles. </strong>Do not use the same articles over and over.  Write as many variations as you can and distribute them to your chosen directories.</p>
<p><strong>Follow the rules. </strong>Don’t forget to read the guidelines of submission as different articles directories impose different rules.  You don’t want to commit a violation as it can get you permanently blocked from the directory’s list.</p>
<p><strong>Use different bylines. </strong>When submitting to different directories, it’s a good idea to use different bylines or footers.   Make sure that you author resource box contains your name and the correct link to your business website.</p>
<p><strong>Submit summaries.</strong> Summaries or teasers of your article are important because it can attract a reader to check out the rest of the article.</p>
<p><strong>Go easy on the links. </strong>Most article directories do not allow any link on the article itself, except in the author resource box.  In the author box, you may be limited to use two to three links as well.  Follow the rules to avoid violations.<br />

<p>Provide Fresh Content.  How often do you update your content?  Ideally, websites must be updated at least twice a week.  If you can upload new content on a daily basis, then better.  Finding to time to write fresh articles is definitely worth the effort.  However, if you don’t have the time to write your own articles, consider getting a ghost writer or a freelance writer to do the task for you.</p>
<p>Use target keywords.  Keep SEO in mind.  Use target keywords or key phrases in your articles, titles, descriptions and even in your links.  Use SEO tools such as Wordtracker or Google Keyword Suggestion Tool so you can choose the best keywords for your market.</p>
<p>Check the Quality of Your Articles.  See to it that your website content is not packed with errors in spelling or grammar.  Poor writing can surely drive away readers and they may not even decide to come back to your site again.  Before posting new content, double your writing or have an editor proofread the text for you.</p>
<p>Encourage Audience Participation.  Have you noticed that the most popular websites on the net also receive the most number of comments?  Yes, if your readers enjoy what they read, they will surely take time to leave comments.</p>
<p>Encourage your readers to share their views or thoughts about the articles they read from your site.  Conclude your articles with a thought-provoking question, one that will move your readers to leave a comment or respond to your post.</p>
<p>Welcome suggestions and let your audience feel that you care to know what they think.  If one of your readers left a comment, do not just ignore it.  Be sure to respond to it right away.</p>

<p>Do not break the rules.  Have you taken the time to read the complete Terms &amp; Conditions on using Google Adsense?  Many webmasters immediately sign up and check the “I Agree” button without bothering to read the fine print.  Bear in mind that violating the rules may get you penalized and may even get your account terminated.<br />

<p>Never click your own ads.  Obviously, you cannot click on your own ads or links to increase your earnings.  If you do, your account can get suspended.  Google can tell where the clicks are coming from so there’s no way you can disguise the hits you receive.</p>
<p>Don’t use other people’s content.  Spamming is violation so do not use copyrighted content or images without the owner’s permission.  Copyright infringement is a serious offense and can get both your Google account and website suspended.</p>
<p>Don’t put your ads out of sight.  This tactic is also known as “Camouflaging” the ads.  By using a font color that is the same as the background color, the person browsing the site may be clicking on the links or ads without knowing.  This is clearly against Google’s regulations.</p>
<p>Don’t ask people to click on your ads.  You cannot request visitors to your site to click on the ads or links.  Those hits will be invalid.</p>
<p>Do not change the codes in any way.  To use the ads or links, the webmaster must copy and paste the exact codes generated by Google.  Any changes made on the code may disqualify the clicks generated.</p>
<p>Do not create an exclusive Google Ads page.  Creating a page that is dedicated only for Google Ads is prohibited.  Google Ads must be relevant to the website content.</p>
<p>Do not cloak your site.  Cloaking is another “black hat” tactic that is used to increase hits.   People are made to believe that they will find the information they need when they click on the links because of misleading descriptions.</p>
<p>Do not use automated tools to get more clicks.  Some people use automated ‘Clickers’ so their ads generate a thousand or more hits per day.  In response, Google has found way to track “phony” hits and using this technique can get you banned permanently from Google.</p>
